Monkey Jungle Cabarete is the top choice for zip lining and eco friendly tours when visiting the Dominican Republic. The park has 280 acres of panoramic farmland with a 4,500 foot, 7 station ACCCT certified zip line that includes an ancient grotto with squirrel and capuchin monkeys. Visitors get to feed the monkeys and directly interact with them, also with other species such as exotic birds.

Monkey Jungle is located deep inside El Choco National Park, takes about 30 minutes to reach but it is worth the trip. Accessible via the main El Choco road, there are signs along the road and the trip along the farmland and small Dominican villages is a very interesting one, some use it for BMX bicycles rides.

Their Story:
It was created by Chuck and Candy Ritzen (From Tennessee ), who were impacted when they were sailing the Caribbean and visited Haiti and DR. They set up an outreach community with a medical clinic, and later created the park to generate income as demands from the community increased.
Sadly, the founders plane went down in the ocean after a trip to Haiti, but the nonprofit park and clinic is still operating in their memory. Besides being a great attraction of the Dominican Republic, Monkey Jungle is a legacy left by two beautiful people that loved the island, its people and still it goes on helping those who need the most.
