By The GKA Kite World Tour Air Games were hosted in Cabarete from July 9th-15th, 2018 as part of the Cabarete Kite Fest. Many international competitors participated in the event, a total of 39 women and men from all over the world including local athletes. The event was sponsored by Millennium Resort.
Since its discovery in the early 1990`s, Cabarete has become a top location for hosting kiteboarding events, included in the National Geographic`s top list of kiteboarding places in the world.
